legal careers

As a litigator, Tina's experience in all types of dispute resolution is a tremendous asset to her in assisting her clients. She is as happy to resolve a matter without a trial as she is to litigate aggressively when needed. Her measuring stick for success is always her client. She first determines their goals and then counsels them on the best approach for achieving victory.

Throughout her time of litigating estate matters, she has learned a broad base of knowledge in estate planning and administration as well as elder law.  Her practice in the Orphan's Court division has assisted clients with resolving estate disputes, trust litigation and breaches of fiduciary duties.

Tina is called upon by the other attorneys in CGA to work with clients on all manners of civil and commercial litigation. She is at home in courts, agencies and informal settings. She is well grounded in evidence and procedure and has become experienced in trial tactics and the presentation of evidence. Tina's clients have been pleased with her skill, aggressiveness, hard work and ingenuity.  She has experience in:

  • Business disputes
  • Breach of contracts
  • Estate litigation
  • Estate planning and administration
  • Elder law
  • Liens and judgements
  • Construction matters
  • Real estate matters

Tina brings a problem-solver's eye to litigation. She recognizes that contemporary disputes often demand innovative strategies and legal measures. Because much of her experience involves business disputes, she knows that a loss in the court of public opinion may cost a client far more than a win in the courtroom. Her sophisticated litigation strategy regularly requires coordinated input from other practices coupled with consideration of public relations. Her litigation effort may be combined with activities in non-courtroom forums, such as in a legislative, regulatory, political or public setting. Tina is experienced in arbitrating cases before private parties and administrative bodies.

In her own words, Tina's driving principle in all she does is "helping people." In addition to helping her clients, she generously donates her time and expertise to a number of civic organizations in York County focused on improving the quality of life in our community. At the core, she is about service to others.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Arbitrated case in which opposing party alleged a breach of contract and a violation of PA Consumer Protection Law, requesting $42,000 award. Arbitration panel awarded only $675.00 and later we were able to settle additional complaints for our client without the expense of a long and costly trial.
  • Litigated a case before the Orphan's Court regarding assets of a testamentary trust involving a dispute over property ownership. Client was awarded full rights to the disputed property valued at more than $10 million.
  • Assisted in extensive contamination litigation against numerous gas companies and managed the on-going estate administration for over 50 deceased plaintiffs.
  • Successfully negotiated just compensation and claims for property and crop damages for numerous York County landowners who granted rights of way to Texas Eastern for the construction of a natural gas pipeline in southern and eastern York County thereby avoiding costly and lengthy litigation for these clients.
